Hydro excavation is the process of using high-pressure water to cut the soil, while simultaneously using a high volume vacuum to remove and transfer the soil into a debris tank. This allows for a less destructive and more precise way to excavate. Hydro excavation is commonly used for catch basin cleanouts, culvert cleanouts, curb box replacements, daylighting or potholing (exposing underground utilities/infrastructure), pothole excavation, trenching, and utility locating, piling hole excavation, and water haulage.
